The 9th annual JCK Legends Tournament!

SOUND THE ALARM!!!!! It’s officially time to sign up for the 9th annual JCK Legends Softball Tournament!!! It’s incredible to think that this is the 9th year, and it means the world to all of us at the JCK Foundation that John’s legacy is still so strong. He loved nothing more than seeing other people happy and the energy and passion you all bring make this day so special and remind us of him. For reference, the first ever tournament consisted of 60 players. This year, we expect to have 160 legends take the field. That’s a testament to the impact we all have when we come together as a  community. YOU are bringing mental wellness to the forefront and the joy we play with is our way of fighting back and honoring anyone who has ever had that joy stripped by a mental illness. You are not alone!!!!

Extra Info about the Foundation

This year has been such a blast for the Foundation as we’ve been putting our main focus on the “Legends School Program.” We had the pleasure of completing 5 one-day programs in May as we went to 2 colleges, 2 high schools and completed our first ever corporate pilot program at IBM. These are a great introduction to our fuller vision of a more permanent layer of support on high and college campuses. We want to share with you a little short story to describe what this program means to students. During the breakout groups at the end of the day we asked the students what they took out of the day and one of the students raised her hand, looked up and replied, “that I matter more than I ever realized.”

To learn a little more about our programs reach out to us at [email protected] or [email protected]

Outside of the school programs we launched “Kelly’s Heroes” which is a series of small community events which promote John Kelly’s values of companionship and acceptance! (If you want to host a KH event just reach out to [email protected]! We’ve also been hard at work on our podcast, “Collected Layers” which documents society’s response to mental illness and is a great platform for storytelling.
